Metquarter

Leading drapes and fabrics manufacturer, J&C Joel, supplied and installed a special fabric covering for four spectacular 10m high light sculptures, internally lit with LED’s designed by Turner Prize nominee artist Mel Chantry. Located in Liverpool’s £75million MetQuarter development the newest, funkiest and most stylish retail experience in the City, the light sculptures provide a focal point to a new shopping experience.

Crufts 2006

Drapes specialists J&C Joel recently supplied five and a half miles of special cotton muslin decorative panels and borders for Crufts, used throughout Halls 1 – 5 of the NEC, Birmingham. To meet the client’s request, J&C Joel specifically dyed the muslin fabric creamy ecru and moss green.

Carriageworks

J&C Joel have supplied and installed a 27 way manual purchase counterweight system for the main stage at the new Leeds Carriage Works Theatre. The new venue is part of a £12 million commercial development of bars, cafés and restaurants grouped around a historic glass-roofed and heated courtyard.

Yehundi Menuhin School

Drapes specialists J&C Joel has supplied the acclaimed Yehudi Menuhin School for gifted young string and piano players, with 14 special acoustic drapes for two levels of their brand new 315 seat Menuhin Concert Hall. The £5million project came with the death of Menuhin, the school’s founder and mentor, in 1999.

Solstice Arts Centre

J&C Joel have supplied and installed 19, 200kg SWL electric Pilewind winches at the €13.5million Solstice Arts Centre in Navan, Ireland. The centre is designed by Shelly McNamara of award-winning Grafton Architects which includes a 320-seat theatre, three visual-arts areas and a café/bar.
